After graduating from university in my home country, I worked in ODA (official development assistance) cybersecurity as a data analyst. Following that, I moved to Korea and worked as an engineer manager. Then, two years ago, I decided to come live and work in Japan. I had always had an appreciation for the culture, having done karate for over ten years (and gotten a black belt) and studied Japanese.

It’s quite rare to find IT projects in Nagoya that can be considered “global,” so I was pleasantly surprised to find GDI Communications. I’m currently working on a joint project across Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and am engaged in cloud computing and IoT for a company of over 1000 employees.

Getting to work with overseas system engineers, utilizing different techniques like waterfall and agile, is both enjoyable and challenging. In a global project, there are always many talented engineers working together, which creates a great work environment that pushes all members to continue developing their skills. I’m also quite fortunate to be close to my coworkers, who I’ve built strong relationships with that allow us to learn from each other. I often visit the GDI Communications’ head office as well, where I enjoy catching up with the sales division and international employees.

In the future, GDI Communications plans to hire a team of workers to work at my company. I would be more than happy to work with an engineer who is looking for such an opportunity!
