Leadership
and the Global Mindset

By Global Business Development GPOD

The process of growing and development is often taken for granted. The growth of a child to an adult, the seed to the tree, and the changing of winter to spring are all examples of this concept. The same is true for an organization. Growth in size, knowledge, experience, revenue, talent, etc., are all part of the journey from a start-up to an SME to a large multinational corporation. As this growth naturally takes place, many changes occur. The same evolution can be seen with GDI Communications.

From our humble beginnings to today’s global network, we have gone through many stages and learning curves. One of those most recent changes is the addition and growth of our Global IT GPOD Division and services and the shift in focus to becoming a recruiting and staffing company. The purpose of this shift is to enable us to support our clients better and broaden the area of our services. This pivot has also enlightened us to review our other services and has helped us refocus again on the critical areas of Business Skill Training and the Global Mind.

In previous blogs, we have written about the value of a Global Mindset. We have written extensively about the value of English ability as the first step to developing a Global Mindset. GDI Communications passionately believes that a Global Mindset, Leadership, and Language will become necessary as we move into the future. This belief has continued to grow over the many years of working with people from diverse countries and cultures and through extensive business travel around the world supporting our clients in their Global Expansion Strategies.

Numerous individuals and organizations also share this belief. Prestigious business schools such as Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan Management School, and Thunderbird School of Global Management continue to incorporate discussion, expansion, and teaching of the Global Mindset in Leadership.

As we move out of the present pandemic and start reconnecting globally, companies and individuals who understand this value of a Global Mindset, English ability, and leadership skills will be at the forefront of growth in the new global economy. Here at GDI Communications, we are looking forward to continued development, growth, and improvement as preparation to catch the next wave of global staffing needs. As Oliver Cromwell stated, “He who stops being better stops being good!” It’s time to stop being “good” and continue to work on being “better.” The future depends on it.
